AI document proofreader
AI document proofreader for designed documents
Proofread the brochure, report or menu as it was laid out — and check it still says what the approved Word document said.
LYNCE is an AI document proofreader for documents that have been designed: brochures, reports, menus, catalogues, flyers and presentations, uploaded as the finished PDF. It reads every page and finds spelling, grammar, price, date and consistency mistakes, then checks the layout against the approved source — the Word document (.docx) the text came from, the brief, approved copy or a price list — so what was designed still says what was signed off.
It is the check between “the designer sent the PDF” and “it went to print”. For long print files the same engine is described from the PDF side on the AI PDF proofreader page; for single images and ads, see the AI image proofreader.

What the AI document proofreader checks.
A designed document fails in two ways: a mistake on the page, and a page that no longer matches the copy that was approved. LYNCE checks both.
Spelling and grammar
Typos, doubled words and broken grammar in headings, body text, tables, captions and small print — read on the page, in the document’s own language.
Against the approved source
Add the Word document, brief or approved copy and every page is compared with it: the price that changed during layout, the date retyped by hand, the name spelled the old way. Findings quote both sides.
Prices, dates and figures
Prices against the price list, days of the week against the calendar, deadlines that don’t exist, totals and percentages that the rest of the document contradicts.
The document against itself
The cover says one thing, page 12 says another. Opening hours, contact details and conditions repeated across pages are checked for agreement.
Translated editions
Upload the master edition as a reference and a translated document is checked against it — meaning, numbers and conditions, not only spelling. See translation QA.
Check the layout against the Word file.
The usual way a document goes wrong: the copy was approved in Word, then retyped, pasted and edited in the layout. Four steps close that gap.
Upload the designed document
The finished PDF — the one that will be printed, sent or published. Multi-page documents are read page by page.
Add the approved source
The Word document (.docx) the text came from, the brief, approved copy or a price list. Optional, and reference files don’t use credits.
LYNCE reads and compares
Every page is proofread for spelling, grammar, prices and dates, and every statement is compared with the source you added.
Work through the report
Each finding names its page, quotes what the document says, what the source says, and suggests the fix. Share it by link.
Not a Word grammar checker.
Versus Word and Grammarly
Writing assistants check the sentences you are still writing, one at a time. They never see the designed file, and a perfectly spelled wrong price passes. LYNCE proofreads the finished document and checks its facts against the approved source. Use both: one while writing, LYNCE before it goes out.
Versus PDF editors
PDF editors let you change the text; they don’t tell you what is wrong with it. LYNCE never edits your document — it tells you exactly what to change and on which page, and your designer changes it in the file it came from.
Versus a second reader
A colleague reads page 1 carefully and page 24 tired. LYNCE reads page 24 like page 1, and compares every page with the source — then a person decides what to change.
Formats, honestly.
The document you check
A PDF — the designed, exported file. Images (JPG, PNG, WEBP) work too, for one-page documents like flyers and posters.
The source you check it against
Word documents (.docx), PDFs and images, added as the brief or a reference. A Word document is read as text: its own layout and images are not checked. Older .doc files: save as .docx or export as PDF.
Not proofread on its own
A .docx is never the file being proofread. To check a Word document’s own text, export it to PDF and scan that — the .docx can then be the reference it is compared with.
Pricing
